Missed what we've been up to?
March - May 2025: Thailand Action!
As Shark Guardian founders Liz and Brendon prepare for another season of shark snorkel trips from Koh Lanta to Koh Phi Phi (Nov–May), we reflect on the adults and children who experienced magical shark encounters at the end of the Thailand high season.

What makes these trips special?
Hands-on marine education for adults & kids
Learn shark facts and debunk myths
Snorkel alongside wild blacktip reef sharks
Log data via eOceans to support marine science
Inspire the next generation of Ocean Advocates
If you’re visiting Thailand this high season, join us for one of these unforgettable experiences. Email info@sharkguardian.org or keep an eye on our social media to book.

Malaysian International Dive Expo (MIDE Expo), Kuala Lumpur (June 2025)
At the MIDE Expo in June, our volunteers brought Shark Guardian's spirit to life! We hosted interactive shark sessions, gave away free books, and sold copies while engaging the public with conversations about shark conservation and our charity's mission.
Visitors learned about shark species, threats like overfishing and habitat loss, and how to support our work.
UN Ocean Conference, Nice (9–13 June 2025)
Trustee Alex Hofford represented Shark Guardian at the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, co-hosted by France and Costa Rica. Click below for a summary of key outcomes relevant to shark and marine protection:
What It Means for Shark Guardian
There's increased global momentum for shark and marine protection — and more partners and funding than ever.
As the High Seas Treaty nears adoption, opportunities for international marine biodiversity protection will expand—helping species like sharks thrive across beyond-national-waters areas.
We’ll continue pressing for stronger regulation on industrial fishing and harmful practices across international forums and national policy.
Love Sharks Week: Maldives April 26 - May 3rd

July Highlights – Youth, Sharks & Swimwear!
GIVE Volunteers Dive Into Shark Advocacy
In July, we welcomed two incredible groups of GIVE Volunteers — passionate teens and young adults from around the world who came to Krabi, Thailand, for marine conservation projects.
As part of their programme, Shark Guardian led the shark and marine awareness sessions — starting with our signature Shark Presentation, followed by unforgettable snorkel experiences with blacktip reef sharks around Koh Phi Phi.

These powerful encounters help the volunteers:
🌊 Transform fear into fascination
🦈 See sharks in their natural habitat
📢 Step into their roles as Ocean Advocates
📚 Deliver shark education in Thai schools
📲 Log sightings to eOceans, contributing to global citizen science and policy change
From the classroom to the coral reef, this is what real-world education and impact looks like.
New Shark Swimwear!
Shark Guardian is delighted to be partnering with HOLUNA ART to bring you a new swimwear range for men and women!
Ashleigh created art based on the polls from our social media which asked for you to share your favourite sharks. Featuring the Hammerhead, great white, leopard shark, black tip reef shark and your clear favourite: the tiger shark, these swimsuits are already making waves across the UK.
10% of each sale will go to our charity - which one will you choose?
What's next?

Galápagos 2026 (August): The trip is FULL — but email us to join the waiting list in case a spot opens!
Thank you for your continued support - 12 years along and still going strong! Who would have thought that a few conversations in a swimming pool could have turned in to impacting thousands of people and helped pave the way for greater awareness and stronger protection for our sharks.
