PROMOTING ACCURATE SHARK EDUCATION
In 2015, Shark Guardian and author Gail Clarke proudly co-published their first children’s book, Sharks – Our Ocean Guardians. The goal was to create a fun, positive, and educational resource that presents sharks in a true light—highlighting their importance as vital guardians of the ocean, rather than the dangerous predators often portrayed in popular media. Shark Guardian aims to shift perceptions from fear to understanding, empowering the next generation to appreciate sharks as essential to healthy oceans. Shark Guardian is working to replace fear with knowledge, respect, and a sense of responsibility toward shark conservation.
As part of Shark Guardian’s mission to promote accurate, science-based shark education, copies of the book are regularly donated to school libraries around the world for free. This is a key effort to ensure that children have access to factual, age-appropriate information about sharks, especially in educational environments where books still exist that depict sharks in a negative and misleading way—often using scary imagery of blood and teeth that reinforces outdated fear-based stereotypes.

Jed's Big Adventure
Jed’s Big Adventure is the exciting second book in the Shark Guardian children’s series. After being introduced in Sharks – Our Ocean Guardians, Jed the Hammerhead Shark is now a fast-growing juvenile, ready to leave his mangrove nursery and explore the wider ocean world. Along the way, he meets other sharks, rescues a turtle from a net, and learns about the dangers of pollution and habitat loss. As he grows, Jed is mentored by older hammerheads and narrowly escapes a fearsome moray eel, making this story one of adventure, learning, and ocean conservation.
